Art Exhibition: Refracted: Collection Highlights

June 1st - September 8th

To commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in England, the Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum in Bournemouth are launching the exhibition, 'Refracted: Collection Highlights', which has been co-curated with members of the local LGBT+ community. The project, funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, seeks to mark this significant change in social and cultural attitudes and to celebrate and work with an important section of Bournemouth’s community.

Whist by AOE

WHIST explores the notion of unconsciousness through the dreams, fears and desires of a family, characters of which are inspired by Sigmund Freud's real case studies. The experience merges Physical Theatre, interactive Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and an art installation, in an environment that blurs the boundaries between consciousness and unconsciousness, reality and fiction, the physical and the virtual.
